Fathers Day Letter

Dear Dads,
You loved me from the second you knew of my arrival.
I will love you until the end of my life.

From holding my hand to cross the road, to holding my hand just because.
From telling me about your childhood, to reprimanding me when i erred.
From holding me in your strong arms or excited when i was scared , to still holding me in your strong arms.
Looking back, i realise too, that you helped raise children who were not yours, my cousins look up to you as an uncle of note.

To all the men out there, trying to do right by your children and their mothers, either financially or just by giving your time, don’t stop, the reward will come.

Now that i am a grown up trying to make my way in the world, i am aware of how much of a handful i must have been *cringe* I thank you for never giving up on me. I live my life as an ode to you.

From financially helping me out when there is too much month left at the end of my money, to giving advice that i cherish more and more and is more precious than any ruby or diamond.

A special shout out to George W. Bush for bungee jumping on his 90th birthday! (and it’s not his first time either) Makes me feel like i have been doing some pretty tame celebrations. 🙂

To all the other men who are doing absolutely nothing for their families, you are loosing out on the greatest gift on earth.

Always and forever,
W.
